Weather forecasters are predicting a warm and sunny holiday weekend, with no rain and temperatures in the low 20°s.

Thursday – Hemelvaartsdag, or Ascension Day – will be dry with sunny spells and temperatures averaging around 19°. But Friday, when many people also take a day off, and the weekend will be warmer with the best of the sunshine on Saturday, weather bureau KNMI said.

By Monday, the chance of rain rises again, although it will remain warm and there will be some sunshine as well, the KNMI said. The nights will also become warmer.

The KNMI’s long range forecast says the weather is likely to remain a mixed bag well into the second half of May, although the temperature may dip below the seasonal average.
