Dutch coronavirus dashboard is no longer being updated

The coronavirus dashboard, the government website which details the number of infections and hospitalisations in the Netherlands, will no longer be updated from Tuesday.

The dashboard was launched in July 2020 to inform the wider public about the spread of the virus and was a much-used resource while the pandemic was at its height.

Instead, the organisations which monitored the virus – public health institute RIVM, local health boards (GGGD) and hospital organisations – will continue to report the statistics on their own websites.

On its last day, the website reported that an average of 18 people a day are currently being hospitalised with coronavirus and they account for 0.5% of all intensive care beds.

The number of virus particles in waste water is currently 73 parts per 100,000 inhabitants. At its height during the winter surge in December 2023, there were 4,248 particles per 100,000 people,
