The coming days will be sunny and dry with temperatures hitting a spring-like 16° at the weekend, weather forecasters say.

There was sunshine in many places on Wednesday and by Thursday it will be mainly blue sky with temperatures of around 10° or higher. Friday will be sunny all day and a little warmer with a slight easterly breeze. By Saturday the temperature will go up to 13° in the north and 16° in the south, the KNMI weather bureau said.

The nights will be chilly because of the cloudless skies, but there will not be a frost. Sunday will be cloudier but it should remain dry, although there may be some showers later in the day and into next week.

However, the KNMI says there is a 60-70% chance that towards the end of next week, it will turn dry and chilly.
