Ajax to meet Aston Villa in Conference League round of 16
Ajax have drawn English club Aston Villa, currently fourth in the Premier division, in the round of 16 of the Conference League.
The Amsterdammers qualified for the knock-out phase after beating Norway’s Bodø Glimt 1-2 in extra time on Thursday evening.
The first leg will take place at home on March 7 with the return leg in England a week later.
There are just two Dutch clubs left in Europe – Ajax in the third-tier competition and PSV, who meet Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League competition next month.
