Some 10,000 people took part in the traditional New Year swim off the coast of Scheveningen at midday on January 1, the organisers said.

The water temperature was 7° and it was “the perfect start” to the New Year, one participants told local broadcaster Omroep West.

Other swims took place at 160 different locations in lakes, rivers and beaches around the country. In total, some 65,000 started 2024 with a cold tip, the AD reported.
