A specialist search team has found the body of missing British youngster Thomas Delafay who disappeared after being dropped off at a hospital in Hoorn last week.

Delafay’s body was found in a ditch near the hospital where friends had taken him after he had a drug-related psychosis. Delafay, 20, was visiting the Netherlands with a friend and had attended a party in Hoorn shortly after his arrival.

A friend drove him to the Dijklander hospital and left him there while he went to fetch his personal possessions, Dutch media have reported. However, on his return, Delafay had vanished.

Police have not yet said how Delafay died but say they do not consider he was the victim of a crime.
