A warm, sunny holiday weekend ahead, showers are back next week

The holiday weekend is set to be dry with sunny spells and temperatures reaching up to 20° or even higher by Sunday, according to weather bureau KNMI.

Thursday will be mainly sunny with temperatures of around 15° but by Friday it will be warmer nationwide, the KNMI said.

There is a slight chance of some rain on Sunday and next week, when thunderstorms are forecast for Monday.

Weeronline says the temperature could reach as high as 23° in the south east by Sunday and Monday. The weather bureau also recommends using plenty of sunscreen when outside because the UV index is set to be high.

The KNMI’s long-term forecast up to the end of May sees little change, with sunny spells and showers mixed in with temperatures around the seasonal average.
