Rotterdam football club Feyenoord go into the winter break as Eredivisie leaders after a 5-1 win over Excelsior on Sunday.

Ajax could only draw 3-3 against Emmen while PSV lost 1-0 at home to fourth-placed AZ, leaving the Rotterdammers a clear three-point lead at the top.

Ajax and PSV are level pegging on 30 points, but the Amsterdammers have not won their last three matches and coach Alfred Schreuder is coming increasingly under fire.

With seven Ajax players heading for the World Cup in Qatar, an in depth analysis of the first half of the season will now be underway in Amsterdam, soccer magazine Voetbal International said.
