ADO Den Haag club bage.Financially-troubled football club ADO Den Haag is to be taken over by American company Globalon Football Holdings.

ADO, demoted to the first division last season, has been looking for a new investor for some time, and has twice been given a three point penalty by the Dutch football association for failing to get its finances in order.

The club says that GFH will make its ‘international experience and resources available to ADO Den Haag, giving the club new opportunities on and off the pitch’.

ADO Den Haag’s aim, the club said, is to ‘once again become an important player in the city and the region, and to offer its supporters stable and positive results.’

The acquisition will become final once the KNVB has approved the transaction.

United Vansen, a Chinese company had been the majority shareholder since 2015, but consistently refused to put money into the club.

GFH already owns Belgian club Waasland-Beveren and has shares in Crystal Palace and several American sides.

ADO Den Haag is currently in 11th place in the first division.
