The number of new coronavirus cases reported to public health institute RIVM in the 24 hours to Sunday morning is virtually unchanged from previous days.

In total, the RIVM had 22,193 positive test reports overnight, up 130 on Saturday’s total. The number of new cases a day would now appear to be stabilising and the weekly average is up just 7% on the previous week.

In addition, the reproduction rate has fallen marginally to 1.18 while the positive test rate has come down slightly to 21.7%, figures on the government’s coronavirus dashboard show.

Hospital admissions, however, continue to rise. There are now 2,642 people being treated for coronavirus in hospital, of whom 551 are in an IC ward.
