A young women reported missing two days ago has been found alive in the wreck of the car she was travelling in, but her friend was dead at the scene.

The duo, aged 19 and 22, were on their way to an after party in a black Mitsubishi Volt on Tuesday night but never arrived at their destination.

Their disappearance had been reported to the police who had been combing the road between Wehl and Doetinchem in an effort to find them.

The car was found on Thursday afternoon after a police officer spotted skid marks on the cycle track. They followed the tracks and found the car, upside down and hidden by bushes.

‘The officer who was first at the scene heard a light tick,’ a spokesman said. ‘They realized straight away that things were not right.’

The woman who was found alive has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
