Holiday park company Roompot is taking over Landal GreenParks, which has 100 parks in nine different countries. Financial details were not disclosed.

Roompot is aiming to be the biggest in Europe and director Jurgen van Cutsem described Landal as a ‘leading player with a very attractive portfolio’. The deal means Roompot will have 300 parks in 11 countries, with a total of 32,000 holiday homes.

The takeover still needs to be approved by the European competition authorities.

Roompot, based in Goes, is in the hands of US investment house KKR.
