The KNMI weather bureau has issued a code yellow weather warning for Thursday, saying strong winds of up to 100 kph could hit most of the country in the morning.

The south westerly wind will pick up speed on Wednesday evening, spreading rain from the west. Overnight, wind speeds in coastal regions could reach 75 to 90 kph, the KNMI said, and the wind will grow in intensity on Thursday morning.

The wind will die down in the afternoon, when it will be cloudy with some rain. Thunder, lightning and hail could also hit later in the day and the maximum temperature will be around 11 Celsius.

It will remain windy, cloudy and wet up to the weekend, the KNMI said.
