Clocks go forward on Saturday night, curfew starts later from Wednesday

The clocks go forward one hour at 2am on Sunday morning, as western Europe moves into summer time.

Ministers have agreed to delay the start of the curfew to 10pm from Wednesday because of the longer evenings. Regional safety boards had called for the change because of the likely difficulty in enforcing the earlier deadline, as more people spent time outdoors in the evenings.

The clocks will go back again the last Saturday in October.
