630,000 people have now been vaccinated, as roll-out continues
Almost 630,000 people in the Netherlands have now had at least their first shot of a coronavirus vaccine, according to new figures published by the public health institute RIVM.
In the seven days to Sunday, a further 124,257 received their first jab, the RIVM said in its weekly update. In total, 154,445 people have now had both doses for ‘optimal protection’, the RIVM said.
Most of those vaccinated so far are nursing home residents and workers, hospital staff and people over the age of 80 who still live at home.
This week family doctors in Zeeland have started vaccinating patients aged 60 to 64 using the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The Netherlands has a population of 17.4 million.
