Three Dutch clubs will take part in the coming Europa League competition following PSV’s 0-2 away win against Rosenborg BK.

Newcomer Eran Zahavi put the visitors ahead in the 22nd minute and was the motor behind the second PSV goal scored by Cody Gakpo.

Feyenoord of Rotterdam and AZ of Alkmaar were also placed for the group stage of the European competition.

In the Champions League, Amsterdam club Ajax have drawn Liverpool, captained by Oranje captain Virgil van Dijk, Atalanta of Italy and FC Midtjylland from Denmark in Group D.

‘It could have been easier,’ Ajax coach Erik ten Hag said after the draw. ‘It will be tough, but at the same time, a challenge. We are looking forward to meeting this strong opposition.’

Having four clubs in European competition this season has also helped seal the Netherlands 10th position in the Uefa country rankings.
