A warm weekend ahead, but summer is really back next week

This weekend will be mainly warm and dry, with temperatures of around 20 Celsius, but high summer will make a return next week, with four days of blazing sunshine, weather forecasters say.

While Saturday will have some cloud, Sunday will bring blue skies nationwide and temperatures in their low 20s. By Monday, the temperature will rise to as much as 30 Celsius in the south, and the picture is similar until Thursday, when some cloud may move back in.

The KNMI weather bureau’s long-term forecast gives an 80% chance of the dry sunny weather continuing towards the end of the month, although the temperature is uncertain.

Weerplaza and Weeronline paint a similar picture, with Weeronline suggesting there could be a regional heatwave in the south next week.
