A warm weekend ahead, but thunderstorms likely in the north
While Friday will be mainly sunny with temperatures up to 28 Celsius in the south, thunderstorms are likely at the weekend, the KNMI weather bureau said.
Saturday will start out sunny but clouds will begin gathering in the late morning and by afternoon there will be thunderstorms, with hail and strong winds, in the north east. There could also be some localised flooding, the KNMI said.
The temperature will range from 25 Celsius on the coast to up to 29 Celsius in the east and north east.
It will be a similar picture on Sunday, with sunny spells and some stormy weather, but it will be cooler than on Saturday.
Next week will be largely overcast with sunny spells and showers, and temperatures in the low 20s. The KNMI’s long-range forecast is for more of the same.
