Police in The Hague on Saturday arrested 37 people at anti-lockdown and anti-5G  demonstrations throughout the city.

The city council had given the green light for 30 people to protest at several different locations, on condition they kept 1.5 metres distance from each other.

In the event, some 80 people attended the demonstration on the Koekamp, near the main railway station, many of whom refused to do so when ordered to go by police. Riot police then moved in to make arrests.

Demonstrators who did not respect the 30 maximum rule were ‘risking the health and safety of passersby and other demonstrators,’ acting mayor Johan Remkes said. ‘This is unacceptable, and then we will act.’
