Dutch official coronavirus death toll rises by 63 to 5,422
The official coronavirus death toll in the Netherlands rose by 63 to 5,422, the public health institute said in its Saturday update.
The total only includes people who have been tested for the disease and the real number could be some 40% higher, experts say.
The number of hospital admissions recorded in the past 24 hours is 58, taking the total to 11,285, while a further 289 people have tested positive for the virus.
The government is widening the testing base from Monday to include teachers, as primary schools open again after eight weeks. Officials also say there will be enough testing capacity to check everyone with symptoms from June as part of a wider programme of contact testing and tracing.
