Dutch coronavirus death rate continues to decline
The official death toll from coronavirus in the Netherlands has risen by 48 to 4,566 according to Tuesday’s update from public health institute RIVM.
The number of hospital admissions has also risen by 88 to 10,609, while a further 171 people have tested positive for the disease.
The figures show a continual downward trend, although the real death and infection rates are likely to be far higher, the RIVM said.
Compared with total death rates over the past few weeks, the real number of coronavirus-related deaths could be some 40% higher, the Financial Times reported at the weekend.
