Good weather will bring clear views of partial lunar eclipse

Friday evening’s partial lunar eclipse will be visible over most of the country as the cloud clears away during the day, weather forecasters say.
At its height – shortly after 8pm – 92% of the moon will be covered by the earth’s shadow. By 22.15 the eclipse will be over. Although none of the moon will go dark, the shading will be very plain to see and will make the moon look smudged, astronomers say.
Some cloud may spoil the view in the south and southeast.
The next lunar eclipse will be on June 5 and this too will be visible in Europe.
