CPB director Laura van Geest to take over at Dutch financial services authority AFM
Laura van Geest, the current head of the government’s macro-economic think-tank CPB, is taking over the helm at the Dutch financial services authority AFM.
Van Geest, a career civil servant and economist, has been director of the CPB since 2013 and will take over at the AFM next February.
Financial affairs minister Wopke Hoekstra said he is delighted with the move. ‘Her years of experience, her independence and expertise at the CPB make her a real plus for the AFM,’ Hoekstra said.
Van Geest replaces Merel van Vroonhoven who stepped down on September 1 to retrain as a special needs teacher.
