Two days of stormy weather ahead, KNMI issues code yellow warning

The KNMI weather bureau has issued a code yellow storm warning for eight of the 12 Dutch provinces on Monday, saying strong winds and heavy rain will hit southern parts of the country on Monday evening and during Tuesday.
The winds will gust at up to 75kph and up to 20 millimetres of rain could fall in a short time, the KNMI said. The temperature will reach no higher than 18 degrees.
News of the storms is a dampener for people hoping to view the Persieds meteor shower when they near their peak on Monday evening.
The best night to see the shower will be on Tuesday, August 13, when up to 60 shooting stars could be seen an hour. However, the meteors are best seen in a dark sky and a full moon on August 15 will be an added problem.
