Code orange and yellow storm warning for Tuesday evening

The KNMI weather bureau has increased its weather warning for the south of the country to code orange ahead of Tuesday evening’s expected storm. A code yellow warning is in force in the rest of the country.
Gales will reach between 75 kph and 90 kph, and possibly more in some places. Hail is also likely, the KNMI said. The first storms are due to hit around 8pm.
Dutch railway operator NS has reduced services in south because of the expected bad weather. By cutting back services in advance, it is easier to cope if things do go wrong, NS said.
The rest of the week is likely to be a mixed bag, with rain and sunny spells. The temperatures will move from the low 20s to the high teens as the week progresses.
The KNMI’s long-range forecast is for more sunshine and warmer temperatures.
