The Pakistan national arrested at The Hague’s main railway station in August after placing a video on Facebook in which he appears to say he is planning to attack Geert Wilders did not travel within the Netherlands alone.

The public prosecution department told a remand hearing on Wednesday that Juniad I travelled from The Hague to Amsterdam’s Sloterdijk station with another man.

‘We would really like to know who he is and the investigation is still in full swing,’ the public prosecutor said in court.

The 28-year-old faces charges of making terrorist threats, preparing to carry out a murder with terrorist intent and incitement.

The police were alerted to the film, which was made at a branch of the Doner Company at the railway station in late August. In the video, which is in Urdu, the man reportedly states: ‘I am just five minutes from parliament where the exhibition is’ – a reference to Wilders’ planned Mohammed cartoon competition.

Target

According to broadcaster NOS, he then goes on to say: ‘Only he is my target. I will succeed if that is what Allah wants… they make jokes about our prophet.’

He then appeals to people to share the video. The man does not mention Wilders by name.

NOS says the man had been extremely active on social media and had traveled widely in Europe prior to his arrest. The public prosecution department says that finding his companion is important to finding out more about I’s network.
