Weekend weather: wet and windy with most rain on Sunday

A westerly storm with strong winds, rain, thunder and lightning is forecast to hit western parts of the Netherlands on Friday, weather bureau KNMI said.
The storm will die down in the afternoon but there will still be intermittent heavy showers, some with hail, into the weekend.
Friday night will be chilly in the north east in particular, with temperatures dropping to nine degrees.
On Saturday, sunny spells will return but it will cooler than of late. There will also be cloudy periods and the rain will be back towards the evening. Sunday will be slightly warmer but wet.
Next week is a mixed bag, with the rain clearing from Monday and Thursday could be a full day of sun. The KNMI’s long-range forecast says there is an 80% chance of fairly cool weather as we move into October.
