Thunderstorms likely in the south, but heatwave is set to continue

Limburg and parts of Noord-Brabant provinces could be hit by thunderstorms with wind speeds of up to 60 kph and hailstones as much as two centimetres in diameter, weather forecaster KNMI said on Thursday.
A code orange weather warning remains in place for all of the Netherlands except the Wadden islands, as temperatures rise to as much as 35 degrees in places.
Overnight it will remain warm, with temperatures barely dipping below 25 degrees and there many be more localised thunderstorms, the KNMI said.
Friday will again be hot, with temperatures going up to between 35 and 37 degrees in central, southern and eastern parts.
More thunderstorms are expected on Saturday and that will have some impact on the temperature. However, it will remain 24 degrees on the coast and as high as 30 degrees in the east, the KNMI said.
According to the KNMI’s long-range forecast, temperatures will remain in the high 20s well into August and the drought is set to continue.
