Multi-vehicle pile-up causes chaos on A12 heading for Arnhem
The transport ministry roads department is warning motorists to avoid the Arnhem area this afternoon and evening following a multi-vehicle pile-up on the A12 which has led to the road being closed.
The crash happened on the south-bound carriageway between junctions Grijsoord and Waterberg and it will be at least 8pm before the road is re-opened, the roads department said. Diversions are in operation using the A50, A15 and the A325.
Ambulances and an air ambulance were called to the scene but as yet there is no report on the condition of the injured.
Several lorries and cars were involved in the accident.
