The Dutch central bank DNB will move its nearly 2,000 staff to temporary office space for four years while its headquarters on Amsterdam’s Frederiksplein is rebuilt starting in 2020.

DNB’s staff will be rehoused in the Tooropgebouw, the former headquarters of insurer Delta Lloyd near the Amstel rail station, the central bank said on Thursday.

The bank’s strongroom and gold store as well as related security services will remain at Frederiksplain until 2022 when new facilities will be opened at a defence ministry site in Zeist.

The DNB is at pains to stress that its operations in the former Delta Lloyd building will be completely separate from those of Nationale-Nederlanden which acquired the insurance group.
