Bus driver who smoked joint ‘drove very fast and hit traffic cones’

An Arriva bus driver in Tilburg was allegedly caught smoking a joint before driving off and hitting several traffic cones, local broadcaster Omroep Brabant reported on Tuesday.
The incident happened on Sunday evening when passenger Rory Jonkergouw and his girlfriend were waiting for their bus at Tilburg station.
‘He was literally smoking a joint standing outside the bus’, Jonkergouw told the broadcaster. The driver turned around quickly so as to avoid being caught, Jonkergauw claimed, ‘but there was no doubt about what he was doing.’

The driver then proceeded to drive away very fast using two lanes and knocking over several traffic cones. Jonkergauw also noticed the driver was wearing jeans and not the full Arriva uniform.
The pair got off at the next stop and reported the incident to Arriva who told the broadcaster they would investigate.
‘Safety is our first priority and driving under the influence is absolutely forbidden. We know which driver drove the bus and we will discuss the matter with him so we can hear his side of the story,’ an Arriva spokesperson told Omroep Brabant.
