Police arrest woman, 19, following dead baby find on balcony
The police have arrested a 19-year-old woman in connection with the finding of a dead baby in a plastic bag on a balcony in Schiedam at the weekend.
The woman lives in the building where the baby was found. Police say it is ‘extremely likely’ that she is the baby’s mother and are now looking into the circumstances of the birth.
Family of the young woman reported the find on Saturday, leading to speculation that the baby had been thrown onto the balcony from the street or another flat.
Police have not said if the baby is a boy or a girl or how it died. The baby has undergone a post mortem examination and dna tests.
