Dutch manufacturers have never before been so positive about the economic prospects, national statistics office CBS said on Tuesday.

Most companies report an increase in orders and because stocks are relatively low, employers expect to take on more staff to meet demand, the CBS said. The transport and the construction sectors are by far the most positive sectors.

In January, producer confidence reached a record high of 10.3 but has risen even further in February to 10.9, the CBS said. The Dutch economy grew 3.1% last year, the highest rise in 10 years.

The consumer confidence index reached an all-time low of -23,5 in February 2009 but has been in positive figures since 2014.
