More major incidents affected Dutch railway users last year
Dutch railway company NS was hit by more significant problems last year than in 2016, the AD said on Wednesday.
In 2016, the railway network was severely affected 88 times by breakdowns, power cuts and staffing issues, but last year this rose to 117 incidents, the AD said.
The NS considers a major incident to be a train which was at least 2.5 hours late or the cancellation of 25 trains stemming from a single cause.
Rail users lobby group Rover says at least 100,000 travellers have been affected by major incidents on the railways.
