Man kills himself and son, 4, by jumping in front of a train
A 46-year-old man has killed himself and his four-year-old son by jumping in front of a train, police said on Sunday.
The tragedy, which was witnessed by a passerby, took place on Saturday evening in Haarle, in Overijssel province.
Police received a call about the incident at 9.30pm and shortly afterwards a second call about a man and child who were missing from a house in a nearby holiday village.
Other family members were staying at the house, police said.
Some 200 people kill themselves by jumping in front of trains in the Netherlands every year.
