A warm and sunny start ahead for the autumn school holidays

October 11, 2017

Warm air blowing into the Netherlands from the south will boost temperatures to up to 22 degrees in Limburg and 19 degrees in the north on Sunday.

The south will benefit most, but it will be much warmer than the average for mid October all weekend, after an overcast and damp week, according to Weerplaza.

‘A couple of warm days in October are not unusual, but this weekend’s weather conditions are optimal,’ Weerplaza weather forecaster Diana Woei said. ‘It is also an ideal start to the autumn half term holidays.’

The temperatures are set to drop again on Tuesday as the impact of a tropical storm heading to Ireland makes its presence felt, Weerplaza said. The KNMI is more optimistic – it sees temperatures of up to 20 degrees and plenty of sunshine on Tuesday.
