Week ahead will be windy with lots of rain, especially in the west
The west of the Netherlands will again be hit by heavy rain and strong winds on Monday, weather forecaster KNMI says. It has issued a code yellow weather warning for coastal areas, saying up to 50 millimetres of rain may fall in some places.
‘Given the fact so much rain has fallen in recent days, this could lead to localised flooding and other problems,’ the KNMI said.
The heavy showers are likely to continue into Tuesday, although the wind will have died down by then. However, the rest of the week will be wet, with some sunny spells and temperatures no higher than 15 Celsius.
