A day of tropical heat, then thunderstorms are set to hit late afternoon
The KNMI weather bureau on Wednesday issued a code yellow weather warning, saying thunderstorms are set to hit most of the country late afternoon and in the evening, following a day of tropical temperatures.
Most of the country will be hot and humid for much of the day, with the temperature topping 30 degrees everywhere apart from the north. But by the afternoon the storms will move in from the south west, bringing torrential rain, thunder and lightning, the KNMI said.
The rest of the week will be in the low 20s with some sunshine and showers. The KNMI’s long-term forecast is a similar picture, with temperatures slightly below normal for the time of year, coupled with sunny spells and showers.
