Europcar invests €10m in Dutch car sharing platform SnappCar
European rental car group Europcar has taken a 20% stake in Dutch mobility platform SnappCar, a peer-to-peer car sharing firm founded in 2011.
In total, Europcar is investing around €10m in SnappCar, which includes the AutoBaink Group and Denmark’s Startup Studio Founders among its shareholders.
SnappCar, which is based in Utrecht, is the second biggest car sharing platform in Europe and claims more than 250,000 customers sharing over 30,000 cars.
The company is currently operating in the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden.
