IT dominates and just four women are in Quote’s under-40 rich list

May 16, 2017

The founder of food delivery service Thuisbezorgd heads up this year’s Quote ranking of the richest Dutchmen and women under the age of 40.

Jitse Groen’s assets are now put at some €460m since last September’s IPO, putting him well ahead of last year’s leaders Coolblue founders Pieter Zwart and Paul de Jong who are in second and third place. Quote puts their assets at a cool €255m and €215m.

Together, the top 100’s assets have gone up 45% on a year ago to €2.3bn, Quote says.

Although most of those on the list are in IT or investment, this year’s list includes an artist, a strawberry grower, a bouncy castle maker and even a darts player. World darts champion Michael van Gerwen is in 100th place, with an estimated fortune of €7m.

There are just four women on the list. Model Doutzen Kroes is the highest placed in 17th position with assets of some €24m. The other three are model Lara Stone, tv presenter and model Sylvie Meis and fashion designer Marieke Meulendijks.
