Friday is warmest March 31 on record, rain arrives tonight
Friday is the warmest March 31 on record with a temperature of 20.8 degrees recorded at the De Bilt weather station near Hilversum.
The previous record of 20.4 degrees dates from 2014. Thursday was also the warmest March 30 in the record books.
The summery weather will not last long. The temperature is set to drop in the evening, however, as cloud and rain move in.
Saturday and Sunday will be around 15 degrees with some sunny spells and showers, the KNMI weather bureau said.
