Dutch officials made 450 user information requests to Facebook in six months
Dutch government officials asked social media website Facebook to provide information about users 450 times in the first six months of this year, broadcaster NOS said on Thursday.
This is the highest number of requests in years and in 90% of cases Facebook handed over the information, NOS said. The requests related to 758 different Facebook accounts.
In total, 28 of the requests were made in an emergency because someone was either in a life-threatening situation or because of other ‘dangers’, NOS said, without giving further details.
