Delivery driver sacked by PostNL for Facebook comments on Istanbul attacks
Mail delivery firm PostNL has sacked a driver for posting Facebook messages about the weekend’s bomb attacks in Istanbul.
The company took action against the man, from Zwolle, after he said he wished more people had been killed by the bombs near the Besiktas football stadium.
‘Pity it was only 29 dead, might have been a lot more, but still?? Those 29 won’t be coming here, good,’ he wrote.
PostNL said in a statement on its Twitter account that it was dismissing the driver with immediate effect. ‘We have decided that the driver has no place in our company because of these unacceptable comments,’ it said.
