Temperatures plunge to -8 but it won’t be as chilly tonight
The temperature fell to as low as -8 degrees in Twente and Groningen on Monday night, making it the coldest November night since 1998, broadcaster NOS said on Tuesday.
But this is still a long way off the record for a cold autumn, Michiel Severin of Weerplaza said. That record dates back to 1921 when the temperature plunged to -15 degrees on two successive nights at the end of the month.
Tuesday will also be sunny and cold, particularly in the east of the country, where the temperature will be no higher than 1 degree. Tuesday night will also be frosty but not as cold as Monday, weather forecasters said.
