Healthcare, refugees rules set to dominate election campaign
Healthcare and the refugee crisis should be the most important themes in next year’s general election, according to a poll by website Nu.nl.
The website’s panel of nearly 2,000 voters was asked which issues are important to them. More than six out of 10 mentioned healthcare as a lead issue, followed by refugees, work and income, public safety and pensions.
Party policy on healthcare and refugees will be the determining factor in how most people vote, the poll found.
Asked about how happy they are to be living in the Netherlands, 13% were extremely happy, 33% happy and 21% moderately happy. Despite this, some 60% said they have little faith in politics, Nu.nl reported.
