A cold night ahead as the temperature dips to as low as -9
The temperature is set to drop to as low as -9 degrees on Monday night and that would break a new weather record, weather forecasters said.
The previous record low for the time of year is -8.3 degrees, which was recorded in Eelde in 2010. However, records could be broken this evening as more cold air is brought in by an easterly wind, Buienrader weatherman Dennis Wilt told broadcaster RTL.
A heavy frost is again likely on Tuesday night but that will be the last of the very cold snap for a few days.
The KNMI’s long term forecast is for continuing dry and chilly weather with light night frosts at times. However, there is a good chance it could become warmer again next week.
