The first autumn storms will hit later on Tuesday
Autumn storms will hit much of the country on Tuesday afternoon, with winds gusting at up to 100 kph along the western coast, weather forecasters say.
The storm is expected to hit central parts of the country in time for the evening rush-hour as a cold front moves in from the west and travels eastwards.
Weather forecaster KNMI says thunder and lighting are also possible over much of the country and has issued a code yellow weather warning. The stormy weather will be short-lived, however. On Wednesday the storms will move southwards and there could be some sun in the north, the KNMI said.
‘The stormy weather will also lead to a busy Wednesday morning rush-hour,’ Buienradar weather forecaster Jennifer Faber told RTL Nieuws. ‘But the weather will be calmer again from Thursday.’
