First ground frost of the autumn recorded
The first ground frost of this autumn was recorded at the Heino weather station in Overijssel on Wednesday night, weather bureau Weeronline said.
The temperature fell to as low as 0.5 degree.
The first ground frosts are usually recorded around mid September. Last year the date was September 27 but in 2014 it took until November 5 for the temperature to dip below zero.
Weather forecasters expect it to remain dry with sunny spells for the rest of the week although there could be showers at the weekend and it will get chilly at night.
