Weather records continue to tumble but its all over now

The late summer heatwave has broken a string of weather records, weather forecasters said on Thursday.
Today is the hottest September 15 on record, with a temperature of 28.6 degrees recorded at the De Bilt weather station near Hilversum. Tuesday and Wednesday also broke the record for the time of year with De Bilt temperatures of 31.1 and 31.4 respectively.
However, the heatwave will end on Thursday night and the KNMI weather bureau has issued a code yellow storm warning for the south of the country.
The storms will move northwards but decrease in intensity, the KNMI said. Friday it will be around 23 degrees with showers. The weekend is likely to be a little cooler but mainly dry with sunny spells.
