Two wins and a draw for Dutch clubs in Europa League
Ajax had a difficult away victory in the first match of their Europa League campaign on Thursday evening.
The Amsterdammers beat Panthinaikos 2-1 in a bad tempered game that saw the Greek side down to nine men and Ajax new signing Hakim Ziyech sent off 10 minutes from the final whistle for two yellow cards.
Earlier in the evening Feyenoord of Rotterdam pulled off a 1-0 home win against Manchester United, considered by many to be favourites to lift the title.
AZ drew 1-1 against Irish side Dundalk, but scorer Stijn Wuytens was taken off on a stretcher after being injured in a collision with the Dundalk keeper.
